The Work
I am a Certified Public Accountant with an interest in theoretical, technical, and sustainability accounting. I think that as accountants, we are quantitative historians with a duty to protect the public interest through truthful and accurate recording and reporting of events.
My professional career has largely consisted of SEC reporting, technical accounting, and sustainability. I have experience preparing and filing 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, Section 16 filings, proxy statements, and registration statements. I have a deep understanding of accounting for receivables, credit losses, revenue recognition (ASC 606 and ASC 310), leases, foreign currency, and internally-developed intangible assets.
Sustainability
I have a passion for sustainability — both operational and in accounting. I've chaired sustainability committees, conducted materiality assessments, developed risk-control matrices, implemented sustainability initiatives, and managed third-party sustainability audits.
From a reporting perspective, I've aligned sustainability frameworks with the GRI, the United Nations' SDGs, and the IFRS' SASB Standards. I've also led accounting for greenhouse gas emissions following the GHG Protocol.
